Barger doesn't want to make an out at third, nor should he. If he didn't pick up the ball well off the bat, then he did the right thing by holding his ground.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Seriously I don’t understand how barger didn’t read that play it was so slow off the bat he fell asleep

Regarding Barger ... watching the play again, I suspect from his angle it seemed like his first read was that it was a medium speed comebacker to the pitcher and didn't pick it up well.. so he hesitated then realized the ball went nowhere.

More of a bad read of the ball than stupidity it seems. Both mistakes.

The problem is our bullpen is so untrustworthy. If we had a lights out guy I would for sure take him out but we don’t. Yariel gave up 2 bomvs yesterday, Varland gives one up every time he pitches, domginuez and little are wild as **** and don’t get me started on coughman. Just no shut down guys.

Reality is we have no BP pitcher that is guaranteed to be better than how Max has pitched tonight.

I don't like this. Could probably turn out fine but for a guy that hasn't pitched a real game in month and has been great let's leave well enough alone.

Max is going vs the big dumper and that's it. I refuse to predict anything else.

Exactly what happened, not often you end up with essentially swinging bunts so it can be weird to pick up.
