Morosi says the Yankees have strong interest in Chad Green, both because he fits a big need, and because he was considered a really good teammate when he was a Yankee.

Unfortunately many of our pending FA's have been trending in the wrong direction in the month of July... Kickuchi, Jansen, richards, turner, and Yimi Garcia (injury).

Why are there still 38000 people going to these games?

I wonder if they’ll actually accept they’re going into a rebuild or not.

They probably dont have a clue that Schneider is a babysitter, and Khakis rule.
Cant stand the way this org is run. They need to get rid of those two things.Let Schneider or someone be the mgr,or hire Mattingly,as he was one in Fla,and get rid of the Khakis that Barker etc cant stand with good reason.

Don’t need to rebuild if 40000 people a night are attending games of one of the worst teams in the league.

Re: General Blue Jays Thread: 2024 Season
There are still plenty of fans who want to see the new Rogers Centre. As well there are lots of fans from out of town. Those two factors probably add as many as 5,000 fans per game.
I was in Winnipeg last weekend and was surprised how many people I met who had summer plans to visit Toronto and taking in a Blue Jays game was on their to-do list.
Once Labour Day passes, I expect we’ll see some very small crowds through September. That said, even without tourists, this team is drawing 30,000+ Toronto based fans per game.

That's a rationale for opting to rebuild. The Leafs and Raptors have been through rebuilds, facilitated, I suppose, because they suffer minimal attendance loss even when the team is awful. The Jays have more exposure to a big attendance drop, but they'd make it all back if they actually had a consistent winner, if only by raising ticket prices even more and through higher Sportsnet ratings and ad revenues.

Lots of tickets get sold before the season starts.

Why in the world would anyone let Atkins make anymore trades?

Re: General Blue Jays Thread: 2024 Season
Clase is a solid pickup for a reliever. Looks like a good weapon off the bench as a 4th outfielder, with a chance to be a regular player if the power he's shown the last couple years translates to the bigs. But he'll need to fix the K rate, and I'm very convinced Guillermo is not the one to help him do that.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

This deal indicates they looking to get players who are ready or close to major league ready for that reload next year - atleast that was discussion on the radio.

While I want the man gone, you think removing Atkins changes things?
It's the same think tank with Atkins or not, all moves are done with a group of people *president, gm agm, president of analytics, vp of scouting.
They are all signing off on deals, or atleast in agreement with it

Either atkins is getting fired and they're letting him make these moves. Or he's not getting fired.
Either way I'm not pleased.

No reason to think Shapiro is getting rid of Atkins now or ever
