Jays Set New Attendance Low

the Toronto Blue Jays could not overcome an issue that is threatening to become the dominant storyline of their young season -- attendance.
The absence of paying customers was inescapable at Rogers Centre on Monday night, as the franchise drew its smallest crowd to a domed stadium that was once the hottest ticket in town. Only 10,314 fans attended a series-opening game against the Kansas City Royals, lower than the previous mark of 10,610, which the Blue Jays reached last week.

I really don't think this is surprising, nor is it really a story.

Who wants to go to the game when the dome is closed on a nice night out? I don't understand it, Why don't they keep the dome open all the time unless it rains. More people will come out, I just don't see why they don't understand that. Then again...playoffs are on..

I think at this time of year people just aren't into the baseball mindset enough to make them want to go to a game on a weekday night, especially when this team isn't going to be a contender.
I know my friends and I talked about going to some games but we agreed that we'll go next month when the weather is nicer and the roof might be open.
They also have to lower ticket prices because the current product doesn't match the price on the ticket. At least make the 200s cheaper or make some more promotions.

All that you guy are saying is true, but once you start flirting with sub 10k crowds, it's definitely a story.
I've been there for some pretty low turnouts, but I don't think I've ever been there for 10k. It must be a giant empty cavern, 'cause anything sub 20k feels pretty damn empty already.

It'll never happen. They just raised prices in the 500s.

I'm not saying it will happen, but it would definitely help!

Speaking of food, anyone planning on going to the all-you-can-eat things this season?

Obviously the Rogers douchers are taking some business tips from the MLSE douchers. Product on the field knowingly got worst and prices still go up!
