I know I'm a public figure and I just have to take my lumps. But I would like those people at ESPN who, from a safe distance, make fun of players for a cheap laugh, to remember that players are actual people. With wives and mothers and fathers and children and brothers and sisters. My mother saw the clip. She doesn't speak English so she asked Yadier's wife what the announcer was saying. Yadier's wife didn't want to tell her. My mom was pretty upset. She didn't understand why they were making fun of my running when there are so many other things I do every day to help the team win. I told her I didn't understand it, either.

What do you guys think? All part of the game, or just unclassy by ESPN? I'm on Bengie's side here..

I'm not one to defend ESPN, but it was all in good fun and Molina already knows he's slow. I saw that clip live and thought it was amusing. You don't see Reed Johnson getting uppity when people say he runs like a girl, which he does by the way. The Molina Bros. get plenty of love for being a catching trio, having great arms, being winners, their longevity, etc. Lighten up and light one up.

Well sure everybody loves a good laugh and he probably shouldn't take it too heart. But at the sametime you can't blame Molina for feeling how he does about the comments either.

I have a strong dislike for ESPN so just on bias alone I have to side with Bengie.

Big deal.

What Benji didn't tell you was that while his mother was "very upset", she was able to manage her mood by spending the afternoon sipping Margueritas by the pool with her Serengeti sunglasses and Louis Vuitton handbag.

^ It's not all about money for everyone. Particularity for mothers i'd imagine.
