Is Snider coming back soon? Will this move Bautista to 3rd?

Odd. His average is very low, but his OPS+ is still above 100, so it's not like his bat had disappeared.
Could be right about Snider, though; they might want to ensure ABs for E5.

Hope this means Snider is back...Encarnacion has been doing alright for what your paying the man. Kinda surprised with the move. Would of liked to sent someone else like Reed.

I'm glad to see this move. Maybe putting Bautista back at 3rd will get him going again.
Can't wait for Snider to come back.

AA said that they want him to work on his batting AND fielding without as much pressure. The Hoff and Wise could split time in the lineup now (Wise to RF, Bautista to 3B, or Hoff at 3B).

I've been listening to a few radio broadcasts lately and they have been really getting into Edwin because he hasn't been running out ground balls/general lack of hustle.
Maybe this is related to that?

It should be. There is no excuse for these guys to not run out grounders. Hell, E5 doesn't even rut our dropped 3rd strike pitches. Now if you're Carlos Delgado and hitting 35/110/.300 I might cut you some slack, but if you're Edwin frickin Encarnacion and you're hitting .200? Also, had it not been for Overbay (I cant believe Im sticking up for Overbay) E5 would have had 3-4 errors over the weekend on routine throws over to 1st base.
This kid coming up is doing well- .328 with nine home runs, 15 doubles and 43 RBIs in Vegas and he hit for the cycle twice this year. I think he's in his mid-to-late 20's as well so he deserves a shot.

E5 designated for assingment now....
Richmond off the 60 day DL...sent to A ball.
So did he not accept the AAA demotion?

It would appear so. It's hard to see E5 being claimed on waivers, though, so I don't think this changes anything.
I can't say I really understand the move. Snider isn't close to returning yet and Hoffpauir is quite the downgrade offensively (I don't know about his defense).

Hoffpauir, if anything, will provide at least the same offence in my opinion. He may not hit the homers like Edwin did, but he'll provide good defence and a consistant bat, he was hitting like .335 with Vegas. 50 points better than Wallace and Arencibia, who are considered the closest prospects we have to the big leagues.

He's hitting a full 108 points higher at home than he is on the road. Dont get too excited about Hoffpauir's overall line because his home/away splits are very extreme. 1.104 OPS at home (extreme hitters park), .723 OPS on the road.

Vegas is a very easy environment to hit in.
His MLE (Major League Equivalence) projections are decent, but not that impressive:

Also, I've heard he's pretty awful defensively.
