It's a bit surreal to watch this game.

Apparently the Jays will get most of the gate but the Phillies still get concessions. Whoopadeedoo!

Inducing groundballs helps in that area.

Ah the irrational hate of Jesse Litsch (seen pitching below starting at around 8:00)

Its not irrational hate, the only year Jessie Litsch didn't look like **** was the year where we had an extraordinary infield defence, his FIP and xFIP were pretty mediocre. His ground ball percentages(which he hasn't repeated since than) are more of an indication of the defence behind than any real skill.

You say "since then" like he's pitched 2 seasons in between. This is literally his 5th start since that year and the 3rd this year. At least give him some time to prove your claim. By the way, a 4.25 xFIP from a 5th starter in the AL East is nothing to sneeze at.

Litsch had a 4.29 FIP and 4.25 xFIP in 2008, very good in the AL East (and comparable to the numbers Shaun Marcum put up in that season).

But I admit, he's having a serious problem throwing strikes tonight.

Great to see us light up Cole Hamels to the tune of 3 jacks and 5 earned over a measly 4 innings. Even nicer watching Marcum go to work for another solid outing.
