I'm not sure about the rest of you but I was born in 85' and thus the NES was a huge deal during my childhood, and later on, hip hop was a big deal through my teenage years.

Needless to say, I found a couple of absolute gems on youtube. There is a dude named 'Jack Cracker' who raps underground in Wisconsin, has been known to collaborate with eyedea and abilities etc and performs with a group named The Crest.

He sampled the 2 songs from the original NES game Rbi Baseball and turned them into a couple of pretty awesome beats and then he spits fire about all of the oldschool players in the game. It's freaking amazing. Blew my mind when I first heard them. There are 2 tracks. Enjoy

Some of my favorite lines to give you an idea.

"Now people know me for rockin like Leo Mazzone, I'll go Steve Balboni on any pitch you throw me, I'm steamin... like Ozzie Guillen after losin to Cleveland...I get this mic smokin like Jim Leyland"

"And if you don't think the kid can hit like Kevin Seitzer, that's bull$hit... like a stock tip from Lenny Dykstra"

I thought the first one was the better one. Brought back memories of all those 80s players like Chili Davis.

And he mentioned Toronto!!!

:D

I posted these a couple weeks ago and it got zero responses. I think they're brilliant. "When I rhyme, it's like Will Clark in '89". What does it mean? Who cares.

Will Clark was a beast n 89'

.333 / .407 / .546

38 doubles
23 dingers
111 Rbi's

Second in MVP voting behind Kevin Mitchell, Silver Slugger Award :p

True, but why Will Clark? He doesn't explain because that would ruin it. The brilliance is in the obscurity of the references.

because Kevin Mitchell was the only player better in that year and he already used him up on a line :p
