In my opinion, the resemblance between the two is similar. The Blue Jays Yunel Escobar has a lot of fanfare for his future, and the hype is there. Demar has the same feel, as him and the young guns are the only bright side this coming season. Here's hoping that in about 5-6 years, all the Toronto teams have solid teams.

Escobar is much older than DeRozan.

Demar doesn't have the behind the back pass like Escobar does

Except the biggest difference is that Derozan has the better work ethic and character compared to Yunel Escobar. A better comparison would be a young Vince Carter to Escobar.

That was a pretty sick behind the back play by Escobar just now.

Yunel is/was a highly touted prospect who was constantly praised for his skills but lacked "heart/effort" and now he's come here with a new opportunity to prove himself.

Again, how is that similar to Demar?

Unless you're referring to their physical appearance, which again I don't see.

lol dyou follow either sport/team? escobar is known as a problem attitude who beefs with managers and doesnt give 100%. thats like the anti-derozan. escobar is more like turkoglu but with actual skill and under 25% body fat

I'm not comparing baseball and basketball, just the players and the optimism and fanfare between the two

I understand that. Yunel was traded because he got lazy and had personal problems with Bobby Cox. That's definitely the opposite of Demar, I agree. But if anyone read what my original post was about, it was about the general positive feeling towards the future for the two players, not a direct comparison of these players physical ability and personal attitude.

DeMar has a far higher ceiling than Yunie. And I don't see the comparison in fanfare, it's not like he's expected to be the franchise.

If Ed Davis is the Raps Hechavarria, we are in big trouble.
