ARod just homered of Marcum, In a 2-0 Count, Marcum threw him an 86Mph fastball on the outside corner and ARod took it to the deepest part of the park, for his 600 HomeRun.

Feel Bad for Marcum, but glad this ARod thing is over. !

Yeah agreed, but since it was against a BlueJay, then thought it might be needed. Also i'm just glad it's over, but the home run was a no doubter ! Sucks that it had to be against a BlueJAY!

The fact that it was against a Jay didn't make me care any more than I already did (not at all).

Yeah I knew it was gone when he made contact with it. Part of me was hoping his drought was going to last longer, just so the whole team would struggle along with him.

A-ROID. Nobody cares about home runs anymore - this whole generation was tainted and individual milestones mean nothing. I say this honestly - even if Bautista or Pujols hit 70 home runs this season, it would mean nothing - because all players from this era are suspect. That's not to take away from the talent of the generation (A-Rod may be one of the best players of all time) - but, like Barry Bonds, he has no hope at an honorable legacy or a place among the true greats of this game.

Without the Steroids, Alex Rodriruez would be no better than Nick Swisher........ thats not all bad, but he ceratinly wouldnt be anywhere near the 600 mark, ever

It's disheartening how little that moment meant. A-Rod is so thoroughly unlikable and/or phony that it was just an empty moment, but it wouldn't mean much with anyone else either. The crowd reaction felt obligatory. And who is going to care about this beyond today? Everyone will go right back to the billion other things occupying their attention. Nothing in baseball is important anymore.

lol is that joke? I hate A - Rod as much as anyone but that is an incredibly stupid thing to say, he's the greatest player of his generation with or without PED's.

Just no. Alex Rodriguez is probably the greatest shortstop/3B in the history of baseball.

Say whatever you want about A-Rod, but steroids or not he's one of the greatest of all-time.

Do you just not care at all about the integrity of these sports? It doesn't help your arguement that you are absolutely head-over-heels in love (in a very questionable way) with Vince Carter, a guy who spits in the face of the integrity of his sport every time he opines about it.

I agree with you, A-rod is and will always be an immense talent, but the minute he decided to take performance enhancing drugs, he pissed his entire legacy down the toilet. These players knew what they were doing - they knew the repercussions for being caught. With A-Rod's arrogance and "holier-than-thou" attitude, it's clear he just thought it would never happen. And unlike, for example, a minor league player who needed steroids to get a contract - A-Rod could have been one of the best players in baseball (of all time) WITHOUT steroids - he is just an egomaniac consumed with individual accolades, so he took the risk of doing steroids - and now he must pay the cost of being caught. I am personally disappointed in ESPN for following Rodriguez's chase at all - All "record-chasing" should be put on hold until the MLB has a respectable drug policy in place.

What the hell. When did sh00n say he didn't care about the integrity of the game? And Vince Carter doesn't spit in the face of anything. That's kind of his problem. Him not fully utilizing his talent shows a lack of drive, not a lack of integrity.

"steroids or not"... is a qualifying statement that, in my opinion, shows he doesn't care about the usage of steroids - he is still willing to judge them all on an equal playing field. That simply should just not be done.

Vince Carter, in his open admissions to lolly gagging and not giving his full effort - particularly in the end in Toronto to force a trade? It is widely agreed upon that the superstar summit and formation of the superstar trio in Miami are a debacle mocking the integrity of Stern's NBA. It was Vince Carter who helped pave the way for the prima donna behaviour that lead to this shameful climax. He taught players how to get their way, even if it meant disrespecting the game and all those who play it.
The worst part for all Carter apologists, is that this was all known well in advance of his open admissions - but in the test of time it could have likely been challenged. However, Carter openly admitted it to Ahmad Rashad, and thus it cannot just be denied as over-reading body language and poor play.

Ugh. Ignorance is soooo not bliss.

And by "steroids or not", I assume sh00n meant that A-Rod is a top talent and one of the best to ever play, even had he not taken steroids.
