I think that this may the last time we see Litsch in a starters role for us. By the time he comes back next season we'll have established one of the young throwers in the 5th starter spot.
I'm happy that Mills is coming up since I'm coming to tomorrow's game. It would have been no fun to watch Litsch get hammered through 4 innings and blow the game.

I would be pretty surprised if you saw a much different outcome against Tampa with Mills.
Why isn't Rzep the one getting major league starts now?

Mills has pitched better than Rep at AAA. His last start at the major league level certainly would have had management wanting another look. Let's see how Mills holds up with a regular turn.

Rzep has 60+ IP of actual major league success and if you take away his May stats coming off the injury, Rzep has actually pitched better than Mills in AAA.
He deserves to be here at some point.

Litsch says hip has bothered him since '06 but not while pitching, just during work between starts. MRI 2 wks ago revealed tear.

I guarantee Litsch will be a better pitcher when he returns, his hip prevents him from rotating all the way and recruiting more power.
It should be a little more closer to 8 months.

the only work he does between starts is dragging his stout torso to the buffet table after each game.

And as it turns out, the outcome wasn't any different at all.
It's up to Tallet to not blow the game.
Edit: Hard to blow a game where they get 17 runs.
