multiple games..
i was checking out that reds/cards brawl and johnny cueto got a 7 game suspension, but virtually misses 1 start since its a 5 man rotation. i have always pondered whats the point, they aren't most of the time aren't gonna be used, except for emergency situations.
anyone else agree?

They lose money. For some guys its not really a problem, but I agree that for pitchers maybe they should look at the starts.

They should suspend them "starts" not games.

If they did this, it would have to be less than 7 games b/c being out for 7 starts would equal not playing in a baseball game for almost 2 months.
I guess the league is thinking, what is the bigger penalty, wage or playing time? And they're going with wages.

Exactly. The same question came up when Edinson Volquez was suspended for 50 games. Everyone complained that his suspension overlapped completely with his recovery from TJ surgery, but he did lose 1/3 of his 2010 salary--$120k. Manny lost more than 7 mil during his 50 gamer.
