Blue Jays fans,

I know you guys are probably just as frustrated as I am with Rogers SportsNet One BS, I have officially filed my complaint with the CRTC over it and you should all do. The CRTC is required by law to register your complaint with Rogers and respond to you. Maybe if we make enough complaints Rogers will stop this BS.

http://www.crtc.gc.ca/RapidsCCM/Register.asp?lang=E

Here is what I wrote, feel free to copy it.

CRTC,

I would like to register my complaint over the reprehensible actions of Rogers Communications in the launch of their new Rogers Sportsnet One channel. In my opinion they are abusing their ownership of the television rights broadcast rights of the Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Raptors, Major League Soccer, and other sports to try and force the other Television operators to take on an unnecessary channel at likely unfair prices.

This is a prime example of Rogers once again acting against consumers interest to squeeze every last penny out of our pockets. Its not like Rogers needs to make any more money off us, they did bring in almost $500 million in profits last quarter. It is obvious that they did not make a strong effort to launch this channel on all television providers. Currently almost 80% of Canadian households are not able to watch Canada's only Major League Baseball team in one of their most exciting seasons in a decade.

Rogers actions are unfair and are hurting Canadian consumers, they should be severely fined and publicly admonished for their actions.

Sincerely,
Jonathan Norris
Frustrated Blue Jays Fan

So when CTV GlobeMedia's TSN2 came out everyone said it was Rogers fault.
Now that the Rogers owned SportsnetOne has come out, it is Rogers fault too? lol

Good luck with the complaint though...hopefully your Cable provider picks up the station.

I already have Rogers, so I'm not missing any games.

Go Jays!

This is a bit different situation then the TSN2 mess, TSN2 was available to all cable operators at launch some decided to make the deals and pay for it (Bell, Cogeco) some held out for a better deal (Rogers). In this situation it is becoming more obvious that Rogers basically didn't even approach the other operators in carrying the channel until just before it launched, and from the sounds of if not letting Bell and others have the channel for another month or more. In this case Rogers is purposely holding the channel back to try and screw the other providers and get their customers mad at them for not carrying it.

I wouldn't consider a 20% stake as "owning".
