Not considered one of the top 10 starting pitching prospects?

I'm just going to assume his omission was an error. I mean c'mon, not even on the 2nd team? i don't think i'm being biased by saying that either.

Drabek should definitely be there.

Good to see Thames make the second team.

Drabek's omission made you miss something that surprised me more: Eric Thames made their second team.

Thanks for the link.

I agree the Drabek omission is curious.

I have to say i've been concerned about Drabek's relatively low strkeout totals. I really like to see that stat jump out at me when a pitcher is progressing thru the minors. That aside though, there may be explanations for it such as he's been working on different pitches and whatnot, and maybe over the course of the year was progressing in gaining command over them. So maybe the strikouts will come. I really don't know. I do know i'm looking forward to seeing him pitch Wed. I think we can all give our full impression of him after that outing.

Don't get discouraged he isn't on the all star team. There is so much pitching in so many different levels of the minor i'm sure there are lots of guys that had better years. Doesn't mean they'll be better major leaguers though!

Thames making second team is incredible after being runner up MVP of the Eastern league. I really had the impression BA wasn't too crazy about him. Thames has come a long way very quickly since his 7th round selection in 2008. Congrats to him. Wish he was playing Wednesday as well, but they really can't fit him in right now with Snider fighting for playing time. Too bad. Don't know if he fits into our plans or will be used perhaps to obtain a power arm for the bullpen.

I only count 5 starting pitchers on the list, so it seems like he isn't in the top 5, which is reasonable.
