Anthopoulos 'The Asset Collector'

Arizona Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers has nick-named Alex Anthopoulos ‘The Asset Collector.’’
Towers was an assistant to New York Yankees GM Brian Cashman this season so missed interacting with Anthopoulos during the Jays GM’s rookie season.
Towers took over the Diamondbacks in late September.
“Man, does he work hard, he is respectful and wants to learn,” said Towers. “He must drink 40 Mountain Dews a day for energy to maintain his pace.”
Can this be the second-year GM’s first endorsement deal?
Camera pans in ...
Anthopoulos is on the phone, while text messaging and flipping between web sites on his laptop.
He takes a sip of Mountain Dew.
“Ahhhh, sweet nectar of the Gods,” says Anthopoulos, turning to the camera and smiling.
Back to our regular programming ...
Towers, the former San Diego Padres GM, doesn’t see a Jays-Diamondbacks deal in the future. The Jays had inquired about outfielder Justin Upton and third baseman Mark Reynolds.
Arizona wants front-line pitching in return for either, while Reynolds has a no-trade clause to Toronto.
Towers gave the Jays GM the new monicker for the way he is always trying to add a draft pick here, a draft pick there when it comes to offering salary arbitration.
Anthopoulos picked up another asset Friday when he acquired right-handed reliever Carlos Villanueva from the Milwaukee Brewers for a player to be named.

Mark Reynolds with a no-trade for Toronto??????? Did he conscioulsy choose against Toronto or is "no-trade to Toronto" a standard clause in contracts you have to opt out of?

He is probably a criminal and wouldn't be allowed in the country. LOL
In all seriousness though, NTC to Toronto and he gets dealt to Baltimore! HAHAHA!
Karma is a bitch.

Probably because of the artificial turf. If we need a new stadium, we better get one with real grass in it instead of artificial turf.

It's probably a no-trade clause that covers most teams in the league, including Toronto. I.e. you can't trade me anywhere without my consent, except for New York, Boston, etc.
