OT: Luke Scott - "Obama does not represent America."

Just saw this interview on Yahoo. "Interesting" to say the least...

Except from the interview "
Obama ... hmm ... Obama does not represent America. Nor does he represent anything what our forefathers stood for. This country is basically built on an attitude. It's a way of life. It's not because you're born here. It's not that you're supposed to take from those who have and give to those who haven't. That kills a country. It killed Russia.

Great timing, dumbass. Obama just extended tax cuts for the super-rich. Same old nonsense about Obama being a socialist and the Founding Fathers being monolithic superheroes. Moving along...

Don't really see the story here. Who cares if a baseball player has right wing political views?

Being a birther is not a right wing political view. It's a Cuckoo political view.

Still not sure why I should care. There are plenty of ignorant people with ignorant views. Luke Scott is just one of many.

Maybe if Obama is socialist enough he will pass a law stating that Yankees hitters only get two outs per inning, giving the extra out to their opponent, so the opponent gets four outs per inning. Just to even things out. :)

Here's an interesting quote:

"[Obama] was not born here," Scott asserted to Answer Man in the session's last segment. "That's my belief. I was born here. If someone accuses me of not being born here, I can go — within 10 minutes — to my filing cabinet and I can pick up my real birth certificate and I can go, 'See? Look! Here it is. Here it is.' The man has dodged everything. He dodges questions, he doesn't answer anything.

What's wrong with this guy? He comes off sounding like a dumbass tea bagger. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Obama's birth certificate posted online? Hard to believe that people like this actually exist.

Yes Luke.

47 years ago, a Kenyan man came to America, kidnapped a white woman, brought her back to Kenya, impregnated her, had the baby in Kenya, sent baby and mom to Hawai, forged a live birth certificate knowing that 45 years later this baby would become President of the USA.

Another thing to remember is that Obama was born a black man in 1961, 3 years before the Civil Rights act was passed after much philibustering by racist southern senators.

OR

He was born in Hawai, graduated high school in Hawai, got a law degree in an Ivy league school, got experience, became a senator and got elected president.

Which one makes more sence?

Why pay it any attention at all? I see and interact with people like this all the time, and I don't.

The best thing to do is ignore the crazies.

how is this news at all? You might not find a lot of conservative people in sports but they are out there and finding one nutjob among them doesn't signify anything.

The main difference is that, to some degree, Luke Scott is famous. Young kids who follow the Orioles probably look up to him. For him to say things like this is simply irresponsible.
