OT: Brewers sign OF Reed to minor league deal

The Milwaukee Brewers have signed outfielder Jeremy Reed to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Reed, who turns 30 in June, batted .143 with one home run and three RBI in 14 games for Toronto last season.

Over 476 big league contests with the Mariners, Mets and Blue Jays, Reed has a .253 batting average with 12 home runs and 110 RBI.

Does anybody remember when Jeremy Reed was actually well regarded as a prospect? What happened?

It's not like good prospects failing to live to up to expectations is a rarity in baseball. Typical case of good tools and abilities, but couldn't hit/produce.
