Why?!?!?! These powder blues are too awesome!

The Blue Jays have scrapped their throwback alternate uni. Also, they're playing at home this year on July 1, which presumably means they'll wear one of their Canada Day specials. No visuals yet on this year's design, though.

Didn't some of the players complain last year that the throwbacks were focusing too much on the past?
Not saying I agree with them, but I think they'd rather people be excited for the future...

That sucks. The powder blues were one of my favorite unis of any sport.

I like the unis, but I did feel there was too much of looking back to the past. It's the present and it's time to move on. Maybe if they go back to throwbacks in future years, just do it without making the game "throwback........". Just make it an alternate uniform.

Do they still use the grey uniforms?

I always hated them...

I like the greys better than the whites, but only because I absolutely hate the font of the letters/numbers on the back.

I like those old school fitted hats. They Jerseys looked cool as well but ya it is dwelling on the past too much.

I don't get the "focusing too much on the past" thing. The Yankees have been wearing the same pinstripe uniform for 100+ years.

There's nothing wrong with wearing the uniforms. It's just how the Jays play up the "throwback" aspect and trot out some old player.

Lets throwback the logo...and with the throwback, dont we wanna wear the uniforms we were wearing when we were successful...
