I live in Montréal, so obviously I think this is a great idea. You would be surprised at how many Expos fans turned into Jays fan over the years, including I...And I believe plenty more could be converted. If you bring TO's team to the big O for a short series, maybe even two games, you get two sellouts, you get to sell the team to an entire province...So better TV ratings, sell more merchandise? I don't see how this could be negative!

The Expos weren't even playing in the Big O near the end, instead in Hiram Bithorn, and now the Jays might play there? LOL. I think it'd be cool to play a couple games a year outside of Toronto, like maybe short series out in Vancouver, in Montreal, etc. It'd definitely get more of the country involved and increase the market size. I only go to a couple games a year so it wouldn't affect me that much if a few were out of town. As long as they don't get the Halladay game, or something like that.

If I was the Jays I would play one 2 game series outside of Toronto every season for the next five years. That would really build up some excitement for the team.

2012: Montreal
2013: Vancouver
2014: Edmonton
2015: Ottawa
2016: Calgary

Then repeat in another 20 years or so.

Yeah I think it would be a nice gesture. This team has fans from all over the country.

Good idea, I think it would be good to play a team like the BoSox in a "neutral" location like Montreal, and play the Mariners in Vancouver, etc.

I think the concept is silly. Jays need to get their own house in order. Get people in the seats in Toronto, then worry about the rest of the country. (If they want fans around the country, setup Robbie to run the caravan).

Not sure if the fans calling the radio station are right or not, but they're still complaining about high prices for concessions. The Jays should have a super cheap game experience to get people going.

Great idea...though rather than visiting Alberta twice in 2 years...I'd consider Winnipeg or Halifax first

I went with cities that likely have ball parks big enough to hold a MLB games. I don't know if Winnipeg or Halifax has a park big enough.

J-Roc, generally I agree with you...but on this one...I think you're wrong

Building the Jays brand nationally can only be viewed as a positive for the franchise...


Do you really think fans would care if a 2 or 3 game series vs. Oakland or KC was shipped off to another city?

ya this is an awesome idea! I love montreal and would make the road trip for sure!
