2011 Jays Trade Ideas Thread

Just wondering which players might be available for trade...

I'm thinking our lineup could use another bat

There was talk during the winter that Colby Rasmus might be in play...however, if it didn't happen during the offseason...it seems likely that ship may have sailed

Though with Wainwright done for the year...the Cards could use a starter...

I'd offer Cecil + sweetner for Rasmus

Who else should the Jays target?

right, trade probably our worst starter now for a 5-tool up and coming player. who wouldnt offer that? but no one will accept that.

if you want rasmus, i think u need to at least include drabek + snider + like 2 prospects. i dont think it's really worth it. there's no room in the OF even with snider gone. thames is coming up soon.

in all, i wouldn't do that deal right now unless it's an outright steal. when we had marcum, then maybe we could have gotten rasmus

We should target any player is who adept at bunting. Someone who can bunt for average and bunt for power, preferrably in squeeze play scenarios.

What would you say if Philly came up to us and offered Cole Hamels and Dominic Brown for Bautista.

Philly is apparently looking for right handed bats. This isnt to say im pro trading of Jose but I want to get a idea of what people would want back if he was ever traded.

No way; they'd have to give up a lot more than that and take back a lot of our crap, i.e Reyes, Rivera, Drabek. Plus, if this year is any predictor, I don't trust AA to truly play the youngsters.

How about Bautista, Reyes, Hill, Fat Frank and Rivera for Utley, Brown, Hamels and their 2 best prospects?

If, in any sort of non-plausible hypothetical, the Jays ended up trading Bautista, they would certainly get a lot more back than Hamels and Brown, I'd imagine.

Cole Hamels, Dominic Brown and quite possibly a top-end prospect or two would be my guess.

I think you two are either A.)Selling Hamels short or B.)not understanding how good of a prospect Brown is.

Cole Hamels, Brown and 1-2 more top end prospects?

Are you fricking crazy? Thats like 5 times better then what we got for Halladay.

Dominic Brown is basically as good of a prospect as Brett Lawrie.

Bautista is one of the 3 best players in mlb.

Unless Lind and Hill pick up the pace and Snider comes up and starts hitting the cover off the ball and Lawire is everything we wished he could be then maybe. If not we are selling our self to the devil.

Cole Hamels is 27 years old and one of the best 5 pitchers in the national league. This guy is just starting to enter his prime and is going to be a #1 ace pitcher for along time. This guy would look sweet at the top of the rotation going forward.

Dominic Brown is one of the best prospects in all of baseball. Before this season almost every scouting service had him ranked as a better prospect then Lawrie.

I understand how good Bautista is but by the looks of it this team isnt going to do much for at least 2 more seasons. He very well could by a man on a island and who knows if hes still going to be performing at this level 2 years from now. Im not saying, we need to trade Bautista but Hamels and Brown is significantly better value then we got back for Halladay.

Hamels, Utley, Brown and prospects?

At the start of the year MLB rated Brown #3 in overall prospects only behind Bryce Harper and Mike Trout.

He's a special talent
