Morrow rejoining Blue Jays soon?

The Toronto Blue Jays sit in third place in the American League East at 6-6 and could use some pitching help.
Starting pitcher Brandon Morrow(notes), who is recovering from a right forearm inflammation, went 10-7 for the team in 2010 and will make his final rehab start Sunday, according to MLB.com, before rejoining the Jays.
However, the 26-year-old Morrow might not be playing any kind of savior role for the Jays upon his return: His last two rehab starts haven't been scintillating as he's allowed six runs in seven innings for the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays.

If Cecil continues to pitch the way he has, he's the one being sent down.
I think the Jays want to keep Jojo as a starter. Litch has pitched ok/good.
His velocity was a concern throughout spring training.

Would be interesting if it ended up being Cecil. I think this weekend in Boston all 3 will get tested, Cecil, Jojo and Litsch. So the dust will settle on this eventually.
It makes sense to keep Jojo as a starter as he is such a little bulldog! I think he threw 118 pitches in his last start. Too bad it was only 7 innings which tells you he needs to get more efficient, as they were saying about Drabek the other night and i think Litsch as well.
Jojo has a nice short but stocky compact body. It's odd to see a pitcher of his stature with control issues, as usually you see it more with the taller guys that have parts flying all over the place. Got to believe once he gets on track he could be special, and that potential reward should keep him in the starting rotation, at least for now. Just hope he gets a bit better each time out. As i mentioned an earlier post, it took Morrow a good month or so to settle in last year, so we may see the same with Jojo.
Morrow's been terrible though in his minor league starts. I hope he's ok. We need our ace back badly!

Cecil's not getting sent down based on two poor starts. Sorry. The entire 2010 season matters a little bit more than that to say the least.
Reyes is probably the worst starter of the three.

'Interesting' isn't the word I'd use. 'Batsh*t insane' would be. Cecil is off to a bad start; Reyes is just plain bad.

Buck Martinez actually mentioned that there's a possibility it could be Cecil who gets sent back down.. you never know

Buck Martinez also says something stupid every few minutes on each broadcast, though I think Tabler is the leader in that category.

And yet I still prefer Buck to Campbell, because his tendency to slip into his pre-pubescent voice and random insertion of talk about deeply unfortunate events (see: Aaron Hill, parents) into the middle of innings was too much to bear.
But yeah; save for the White Sox tandem, there aren't many who have been around the game as long as those two, but still seemingly know nothing of it save a few cliches.

Don't get the Tabler hate, not all of it. He knows a lot about hitting and analyzes that pretty well. He basically called the Jose HR yesterday. Cliches and old school stats are to be expected from almost every crew.

Tabler is the biggest blowhard ever... Just one of the good ole' boys, but never says anything new. Infact, you'll notice his analysis 99% of the time involves repeating Buck's words back to him except in a different order. He's the guy I wanted gone all along... Not that Campbell was God's gift to a microphone, but how can you fault him for calling balls and strikes when his colour consisted of "Tabby", Rance, and Darrin... The best combo would have been Jamie and Buck doing colour. But Buck wants PBP, so its moot. jmnsho. Rant over.

The best combo would be Shulman and (name your analyst). But even Shulman says things like "stat nerds don't appreciate the aesthetics of baseball". Like I said, it's to be expected from anyone who has been calling games for more than 10 years.

I don't mind Tabler, at least ever since he scored me a couple free tix to a game last year. And there's something about Buck's deep, raspy voice that just gets my heart racin every time a Jays player goes deep.
These guys are tolerable, if not enjoyable to listen to (yes, cliches, repetitiveness, lack of in-depth statistical awareness, and homerism aside lol) imo...they're not awful at what they do. Buck's also got a ton of quotes he pulls out of his pockets from his time as a player/manager and as a broadcaster, along with stories that we might have already heard, but still interesting if not, not totally boring.
I think Leo Rautins has just set the bar so damn low for Toronto sportscasters, that Tabler will have to say something so outlandishly racist for me to say he's horrible. Of course, being more tolerable than Leo doesn't make one a good sportscaster, but Tabby is OK in my books, though I'm not as educated as some of you here and consequently might not scoff at his insight as often as some might.

i hate Tabler, makes me miss Mulliniks and his stupid obsession with predicting pitches. Buck is ok in my book, he doesn't know dick about anything but i like his voice and he's passable as a play by play

Reyes is out of options as you know so they can't send him down. Maybe he goes to the bullpen but given his stamina and repertoire of pitches, it would be best to work with him in the starting rotation. The bullpen is more for guys that don't have the stamina or don't have more than like 2 pitches. It would make the most sense to send down either Cecil or Litsch (likely Litsch, but who knows, maybe cecil gets shelled friday and litsch pitches well....we have to wait and see), which may not even be for long, as the other pitchers may go down from time to time, such as Morrows arm flareup.
I guess i'm one of the few that like Reyes and his potential. Stay tuned.

It's too weird when Buck asks Tabler a question about how Tabby would catch in a game situation. Obviously it's to generate conversation, but it makes no sense since Buck could answer the question on his own.

I think those 2 do an outstanding job. Buck is quite funny actually. I find myself laughing all the time at his jokes. As for the mentioning of Cecil...they wouldn't do that on their own. You have to know that. That was given to them to throw out there. My inclination is it's more of a motivational tool to light a fire under Cecil...but as Evil says, you never know, and there may be some truth to him going down if he doesn't respond.

For anyone curious, it was actually audio from the Jeff Blair show:

If Buck and/or Tabler bother you, why not turn the volume down and listen to Jerry Howarth and Alan Ashby? Those guys are a treat to listen too. Ashby often calls it likes he sees it, which works as a nice counterpoint to Jerry's trademark positivity.
