OT: Justin Verlander lol. What was he thinking?

http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=13867701I guess he just froze and threw at home instead of first base. But how come the runner at first went to second base and DeJesus ended up batting again.

I can only assume they called a balk on Verlander. In the video you can see him shrug his shoulders and explain he's not sure why he did that. I've never seen anything like that. Good find.

It was called a balk, that's why the runner advanced one base

I almost spat out my drink when i watched it the first time. Did DeJesus actually get hit, they don't show the play in teh right angle, if so Verlander might have just figured out how to plunk a guy without putting him on base, its revolutionary.
