Outgoing to Milwaukee:

Drabek, JoJo Reyes, Cecil, Rauch, Snider, Cooper and D'arnaud

Incoming to the Jays:
Marcum, Braun and John Axford (their closer from Simcoe, Ont. who currently has 9 saves)

New rotation:
Romero, Marcum, Morrow, RZep, Litch

New lineup:
Escobar
Patterson
Beast
Braun
Lind
JPA
Hill
Lawrie
Thames

What say you? Would Milwaukee do this?

Umm what? Toronto just traded Marcum to Milwaukee. Moreover, Drabek is the guy the team got for Halladay, I don't think they want to give up on him for the sake of getting back a guy who probably has a lower ceiling anyway.

Though not common, reacquisitions do happen. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree about Drabek, I don't think he'll ever be more than a #2 starter, but my thread is premised with the caveat that we are still in it by the All Star break, plus for some reason, you ignored the acquisition of Ryan Braun, one of the top hitters in mlb, who would help Beast tremendously. Either way, I respect your opinion, we'll just have to agree to disagree. No biggie.

There is no chance the Brewers would trade Ryan Braun.

You're probably right, but keep in mind, last year we were virtually all in 100% agreement that there was no way any team would trade for Vernon Wells and pay most of his salary. You don't think that I proposed enough legit prospects; Snider, Drabek, Cooper and D'Arnaud?

This trade is completely unrealistic. Obviously; the Brewers aren't very likely to trade Marcum and Braun not even a year after they acquired Greinke and Marcum.

I'm fairly certain it would take Drabek, Snider, D'Arnaud just by themselves to get Braun and that might not be enough anyways. Let alone Marcum.

Interesting, most of you said that we were not giving up enough to Milwaukee, except for Sensei, who felt that we were giving up too much in my hypothetical trade. I figured if the Brewers were out of it by then, we could offer them what I felt was a fair and substantial package. Either way, thanks for your thoughts guys.

Brewers are stupid.... Braun was locked up for a few years already, but they decide to sign him even longer at a historic rate  they were scared he might run off as a FA "one day", so they locked him up even though there was no need to do so.

it could perhaps be around equivalent value for each side, but drabek, snider, and d'arnaud each have all-star potential imo...i'd rather have these guys pan out and for the jays to be dominant because of these guys for years rather than the 3-5 year window we'd be good but maybe not even enough to win with braun and marcum. the aforementioned players are still years away from their primes.

To call this trade fantasy would be too kind. No more of these, please.

Should we maybe start a "Trade Idea" thread for posts like this?

Ideas like this don't deserve to have a thread.
