#BlueJays send Kyle Drabek to minors, call up Zach Stewart. #MLB
http://twitter.com/#!/jonmorosiNow I'm really starting to question the management of some of our young players. If Drabek wasn't ready this year, what was he promoted to the bigs soo early this year ??

And if he wasn't up, people would complain about why he wasn't with the Jays.

Enough was enough. It clearly became a confidence/mental issue for Drabek in the end, and he's better served building that up again in the minors like Cecil did/is doing.
I expected Cecil to take his spot, but I'm more than fine with Stewart being given a shot. This is certainly one way to solve the problem of Zach's stagnation.

Because they were wrong. They thought he was ready. He wasn't. It happens.

I hope they don't slot him into Drabek's spot Saturday. That will be 9 days between starts.
Makes a hell of a lot more sense to go with Stewart tonight on his regular rest and move Carlos V back to the pen and then bring Cecil up for Saturday.

Makes sense for Drabek, a lot of his problems seem to be mental, so let him work it out without the spotlight.
Excited to see Stewart up.

Agreed on both counts. I was in favour of keeping Drabek up for as long as possible
because his issues seem to be more mental than mechanical, but it had started to snowball. He needs to get his head back together, and go back to a level where he can just pound the strikezone and regain his confidence.

Yeah I think he needs to just settle down and dominate AAA for a little while, get his confidence back and he will be back in the majors. A lot of great pros go down to the minors at least once before they are ready to really contribute, and I think the experience helps them put things in perspective.
Overall a good move.

Stewart starts Thursday afternoon.
First Cecil, now Drabek; time for the Jays to hire a shrink?

Yeah, I don't get what it is with all these pitchers suddenly losing their balls on us (no pun intended).
