Our star Patterson finally gets a day off.

I think the Jays bounce back and win this series, especially with their best 3 SP in action and Pujols out.

LaRussa has the pitcher batting 8th. He's crazy like a fox.

I know it is only 1 game, but keep Thames in the 2 spot. He''s going to get pitches to hit ahead of Bautista/Lind and he's capable of doing damage (as we've seen tonight)

Yeah, I'm pleasantly surprised with Farrell's use of him in the #2 hole, even if it owed largely to Patterson's day off (I await Thames hitting seventh hereafter). Hitting a fastball hitter who can take a walk in front of Bautista is perfect, even if Thames isn't a conventional #2 guy.

Move Patterson to CF with Thames in LF and Bautista to RF. Dump Davis to the bench.

Patterson is pretty much a disaster when he's playing CF.

Thames better be careful here... if he keeps hitting like this, they'll send him down again.

He should be trying to channel Jayson Nix at the plate. That's how you assure yourself of a major league career.

Davis could be one of the best 4th outfielders in baseball, and that's what most of us hoped he would be prior to the season. But instead of landing a more solid option, AA went out and got us Corey Patterson, Scott Podsednik, and DeWayne Wise. Which actually wouldn't be so bad if Patterson and Davis were platooned regularly. As others have said, having them both in the lineup every single day is just brutal.

One of the best 4th outfielders in baseball? please. His defense is one of the worst as centerfielder, and let's not even talk about his pathetic offense. He's just flat out bad. It would at least be tolerable if he was a backup, but one of the best 4th outfielders is just being ridiculous.

You do realize most 4th outfielders aren't exactly 5-tool dynamos, right? That's why they're 4th outfielders. He has lightning quick speed on the bases, and is a career average .280 hitter IIRC. And I'm not sure why you're saying his defense is "one of the worst". As far as 4th outfielders go, he would be very good I'd say. (Cut stats. guys trying to prove me wrong )

Looks like Bautista may be breaking out of his slump. Good thing too - his .OPS was at risk of falling below 1.100
