Speculating Here: Mike Adams To Toronto?

"...Earlier this month, at the suggestion of his agent, Adams applied for a passport just in case he's traded to the American League and has to travel to Toronto..."

Not sure what prospect San Diego can possibly pry off the Jays, who are seeking a top prospect in return, but the Jays definitely could use a legit arm like Adams as a closer.

don't read too much into this as adams is just preparing himself for any trade rather than a trade to toronto specifically. by simply just being traded to the american league, adams should have a passport ready to travel to toronto regardless. basically, every baseball player should be prepared for a trip to toronto. it is more likely he is covering the bases so he can pass the border to play against us than for us.

I get that, but every player should have a passport. Why did the agent suggest this just now? It's not like he's a rookie but I suppose a trade to the AL East would mean that he'd have to come to Toronto.

As would a trade to Texas, Seattle, Oakland, or the White Sox; all of those teams are making trips to Toronto this year.

Good though Adams might be, I can't really see us trading what it would take to get him, as he's a 32 year old reliever who hits free agency after next year. They are apparently looking for a top 25 prospect for him, which would probably mean d'Arnaud...and that would be an exceedingly bad decision on our part.

Can someone give me numbers on this guy? Just when I thought I brought my knowledge of all the players back from a fan hiatus I had.
