Value of players in MLB... confusing

Post#1 » by number15 » Wed Jul 27, 2011 4:53 pm

- just this offseason, Jays fans were talking about Bautista+more just to get Colby Rasmus from the Cardinals. Not many wanted to do it obviously, but that was the presumed value..... now he is coming for scraps in return. :o

- Maybe its just me but Jason Fraser and especially, Octavio Dotel seemed to have very little value these days. Yet they are key pieces in getting Colby Rasmus. :o

- Edwin Jackson went from star pitcher not long ago to very lowly this season. Similar to the Cecil situation in Toronto. Yet he is the guy St.Louis wanted for Rasmus, the cant miss prospect. :o

........... after all this, maybe our trade deadline wont be so slow. AA can make value for anyone

I would like to see a link for that, because I don't remember it. I remember trade ideas like Snider and Drabek.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Please discuss in the thread about the actual trade.
