http://www.thescore.com/home/articles/155781-in-the-mixWondering two things.
What would it cost to get him - he's certainly interesting, but not as our first or maybe not our second starter? Does his record improve moving to a slightly less hitter-friendly home park?
According to media reports, it will take as many as three prospects at either the ML or minor league levels: a catcher, a pitcher and a first baseman. We could probably do all three without touching our best prospects. Guys like Cooper, McDade, Carlos Perez, etc.

Look what the Rockies say they want from the Yanks:
•The Rockies want Ivan Nova and two of Manny Banuelos, Dellin Betances, and Jesus Montero from the Yankees, reports Joel Sherman of the New York Post. Sherman writes, "to say the Yankees and Rockies are not finding common ground on Jimenez’s value is an understatement."

I dreamt of this just now before I woke up. I think they have enough prospects to make this work, and it won't be as much as they (COL) is asking from BOS, NY, etc. The advantages of being a not so good team maybe.
I also think they'll make a serious push for a veteran DH/1B when the additional wild card talk gets official as they already seem to be changing philosophy or atleast accelerating it.

Jimenez is a fringe #1/really good #2 starter, but the asking price is absolutely ridiculous at the moment.

Aaron Hill and Travis Snider are both sitting today's game out. I'm sure it means nothing, but...
Actually, it probably just means nothing.

Aaron Hill for Jimenez!
Jimenez on the road has a 2.83 ERA and at home has a 5.55 ERA.

Actually, it probably just means nothing. Here's hoping, though.
I also think Mills might be getting showcased today too.
This might intrigue them:
One of Snider/Gose (they pick), Adeny Hech(this guy is becoming more and more expendable w/ Escobar improving everyday), another A or AA prospect (Alvarez or Noel Synder...), and Aaron Hill.

He is young, and Coors Field is no walk in the park.

May be one less team in the running for him if Boston trades for Kuroda instead.

I'm guessing the Rockies would be demanding Drabek + D'Arnaud + another legit piece and maybe another smaller prospect.

Drabek/Cooper/EE seems pretty damn reasonable if you ask me.

D'Aarnaud is the one that I really don't want to see in any trade....

Yeah, you'd have to think that it would be exceedingly expensive, and the massive drop in his fastball velocity this year is scary. It's not that a 93.4 mph average doesn't it done, but that the drop could be indicative of shoulder problems.

I don't want him. He will cost a fortune.
It's terrible that the Yankees and Red Sox are front runners, but I could still live with passing on him.

hes definately not worth 2 bonafide prospects plus more - I wouldnt give up Drabek + D'Arnaud or gose or snider or hill for him.

Drabek + Thames/Snider + Cooper + EE. I wonder if that's enough?

Not unless they are in love with Drabek and Snider.

Drabek and Snider, I can live with that.

Drabek, Snider and Cecil for Jimenez? That would probably get done, but it's likely too much for AA.
