http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/b ... le2115002/I'm not sure how I feel about this. He's arguably the most talented player, but he only played 5 years with the Jays.

Yes, he went into the HOF as a Jay, his number should be retired.
Any player that goes into the HOF as a Jay in my opinion should have their number retired.

So... he goes into the HOF as a Jay and we don't retire his jersey? Does that make any sense?

I wasn't sure about the decision either. Suppose, as a hypothetical, a hall of famer played 20 years, 2 years for each of 10 separate teams, one being the Jays. If he went into the Hall as a Jay, would you retire his number?
I think if Alomar's teams hadn't won two WS, my answer would be no. But he was arguably the most important player on those two teams, and at 5 years played for the organisation I'd say he barely makes it. But it certainly isn't a clear-cut decision in my opinion.

Yes. And then scream at our GM of that era for letting him go.
Right now, there are only three players with any chance of going in to the Hall as a Jay (none of whom are currently Jays) - admittedly, one is a very very long shot. I'd be comfortable with any of their numbers being retired if they're in the hall with a Jays hat.

A little OT but is there plans to put Carlos Delgado in the Level of Excellence?

No doubt. I think this is Alomar's year, so they won't put anyone else up there right now. I see Hengten up there next year, with Carlos the year after.
