just wondering what people think of him now.... I was hoping the JAYS would not sign him, when he was available. Looked very over rated and seems to be showing that. I love the 100+ fastball, but thats all he has...... Reds wont even let him close. He is a shaky reliever.

However, AA said he regreted not paying up for Chapman right after Reds signed him.... as of now, in my opinion, Chapman would be available for an offer that helped the Reds.... is it worth looking into? I mean AA has a history of going after guys he's liked before, and he seemed to really like this guy.

In my opinion, I always thought of him as a starter, but he would likely kill his arm in less than a season.... so reliever is fine for him, but he sux.

can we say, JAYS r lucky not to have signed him at the rate REDS got him at.

I sorry but Chapman doesn't "sux". He's just 23 years old and played about 44 career innings and if you take away 2 bad outings in the middle of May he's been pretty damn good as a reliever.

Chapman has been phenomenal since coming off the disabled list (two hits, two walks, 17 strikeouts, 28 batters faced), so it’s good to see him put the ugliness of May behind him.

I'm pretty sure he was not/will not be placed on waivers by the Reds...and I highly doubt he is available anyways....the trade deadline is also over so this thread is pretty pointless.

and as sonn said;

I sorry but Chapman doesn't "sux".

I don't see how this thread is an "update fr Jays"...it's just who you think the Jays should go after.
Doesn't deserve it's own thread

If you take away a 4 game stretch where he couldn't find the strike zone (1.1 IP, 10 ER, 2 H, 3 SO, 12 BB) and had to be sent down to rectify his woes, his seasonal line is 30 IP, 3 ER, 2 HR, 7 H, 45 SO, 13 BB. That doesn't suck.

Whether or not his arm will fall off is still a concern, though. It's evident he was battling some form of fatigue or soreness during that painful 4 game stretch as he had 5 + 5 + 5 + 8 (first rehab appearance) days off in between appearances.
