I hope Cecil brings his A game this time around and I also want to see Alvarez pitch further into the game.

Brad Mill's game is a guaranteed loss >.<, no expectations for a win on that game.

No seriously, what possible reason is there to not send Mills down? I do not get it. He pitched well in Triple A and deserved a shot in the bigs. He got it and sucked. Now send him back where he belongs.

I think he's holding McGowan's spot. The Jays play the Royals and Rays and he is facing Oakland today. These are fairly weak opponents in a year when winning is irrelevant. The Jays would rather he suck up a few starts until McGowan gets to 90 pitches because they don't want to upset the apple cart with their prospects (who are doing quite nicely at the moment). He probably only has to make one more start after this one (McGowan needs two starts of 5 innings). Who knows? Maybe he avoids getting embarrassed and pitches better the next two games.

They could have Perez do it but he's been used an awful lot lately. So yes, he's stretched out--but far too much. They could have Litsch do one but he's excelling where he is. Bottom line is that there is no one outside of Molina or Carreno or Drabek to come up--and the Jays don't think they are ready yet.

I don't get it either. I guess the Jays don't want to move Perez/Litsch out of the pen as the probably see their future there and all the minors guys have some kind of issue.

McGowan: Not ready
Drabek: Still needs work
Carreno: Control problems
Jenkins/McGuire: Too early?

But, they will almost certainly bring up Carreno in September anyways since he is on the 40 man roster. Why not just do it now and get him a couple starts before the competition gets watered down in September?

Burning another start on Mills is just a waste of time.

the danger is if mills have a 50/50 outing, dunno if to keep him or send him down and end up giving him another chance. either he implodes or shows miracle stuff, nothing in between plz
