Jays place Jon Rauch on DL: torn cartilage in right knee. Team medics recommend surgery. He's seeing a specialist in Colorado.

Someone make a Rauch appreciation thread.

Rauch should still retain type B status, but offering arbitration could be pretty risky now.

Hopefully, this knee injury isn't too serious or it could end up costing us a pick.

Torn meniscus isn't a huge deal. Has a pretty short recovery time. Still, it doesn't help us in terms of having him decline arbitration. It's not the end of the world if he accepts though, like when Frasor did. Just deal him during the season if we don't want him.

As long as he's not in uniform its all good news to me. Get better just not on this team.

This may scare all of you but this could mean he returns next year. I would say there is a better chance of him coming back now.

this makes it all but likely that he accepts arbitration from us assuming that we offer it. wouldn't think aa lets rauch walk for nothing, he'd sooner bring him back even if he had to trade him at some point.
