I think he was always going to get "Cliff Lee Money" all along and I'm pretty sure he would have gotten it from either Detroit or us, but it was a no-brainer on the Yankees part.

I truly believe this was an absolute no brainer for the Yankees.

They couldn't risk losing CC to an AL East team or even someone in the AL.

Crazy money but had to be done. His BAA and WHIP has gone up last 2 years and he is way out of shape. Want to see where this goes.

Yeah there was no way the Yanks were going to let him go. They are trying to improve there pitching, so it wouldn't have made sense to let their ace leave period.

Pretty good deal for the Yanks (I thought he'd get 7 total years from them). There has to be some concern with his weight though, especially since he's 30 now and will be 36 when his contract ends.

MLB needs a salary cap.... seriously, this is just ridiculous

Yeh Sabathia was gonna get that anyway, but im talking about the Yankees. Why cant the Jays just a championship, too
