Doubt we'll see anything early from AA.... aside from Johnny Mac possibly coming back.

Jays are rarely involved so I was wondering if a lot of players usually sign on the first day?

Incarcerated bob says Jays will jump out and offer Fielder 105 million over 6 years. Also states Jays will show interest in Ryan Madsen.

Incarcerated bob was MONEY during the NFL Free Agency period. He was the first to leak many big signings.. The ones I remember the most (because I am a Seahawks fan) was him leaking the Sidney Rice and Zach Miller signings before anyone else did.

I hope that Bob's numbers are wrong, because Fielder will laugh that offer off, and sign with the Cubs for 180 mil over 8 years instead.

Madsen's pretty interesting though.

Hope this Incarcerated bob is right about us offering a deal to Fielder. But theres now way he excepts that low ball of a deal. It has to be at very least 120 for 6 years.

He hates his Dad. Would he want to sign with a team that his Dad played for which could come up too often for his liking in interviews?

I want Ryan Madson as well but he could be pricey. He is represented by Scott Boras who always demands more money than the player is worth. Wouldn't be surprised if he asked for close to $10 mil a year and that might be too much that the Jays want to spend on a relief pitcher.

Doesn't Beeston have a policy against signing Boras clients? Hope he waves it.

Maybe he'll look at it from a perspective where he could sign here to show us that he's better than his dad ever was?

Lets hope so. His dad never won a WS here, so this is Prince's chance to show he's better :D

6 years/105? Way to show the league you're serious. Why even bother?

Like seriously WTF! 17.5M over 6 years isn't going to come close.. They need to up it 7-8M per year to have a shot :-?

As much I love Fielder and would be ecstatic to have him in Toronto. I don't think I'd go above 20 per for him.

Not a policy, just a general guideline. When Beeston was Prez of MLB he pretty much out and out said Boras was the worst person in baseball, and the bad blood has simmered since.

Boras is losing more and more of his clients/ having his clients negotiate their own deal behind his back. He's kind of likea schoolyard bully who you like to say are watching your back, but who you aren't really friends with.

Well he was offered 20 per to stay with the Brewers and their playoff team/great fan base and said no, so I'd expect a few above 20 per for him.

I would also love to have Fielder in T.O.

I'm not surprised, he will have a real opportunity to play and contribute there. Here he has Yunel, Lawrie, Hech, McCoy to contend with for playing time. McCoy might not have his D, but is better offensively and can pinch run.
