OT: Juan Rivera signs with the Dodgers

Yahoo.com reports that Juan Rivera is on the verge of signing a 1 year 4 million dollar deal with the Dodgers..... surprising considering we all that he was garbage.

The guy turned it into a decent season after going to LA. Good numbers, not amazing but good, just like he did with the Angels in those years, and had solid defense.

not saying the Jays regret anything though... don't get me wrong

Not sure why this is such a surprise? He went over to LA after warming up after a horrible start to produce decently .274/.333. He stunk it up here but we are talking about a guy who still had an obp higher than .300 despite struggling as badly as any Blue Jay in recent memory. His numbers with the Dodgers line up fairly well with his career averages, he still has a bit left in the tank (just glad he isn't here).

I dont think Juan Rivera deserves his own thread for anything.

well, Chin Ming-Wang just got 4 million from the Nationals.... i know he was once an ace, but he was sub-par last season and add the injuries over the years.

makes the Juan Rivera contract look just right.

1 year, no harm i guess :wink:

Goes to show how weak this free agent class is. Bad year to go big, especially when we have a solid chance at landing 3 first round picks.
