According to a report in the Toronto Sun, the Jays have asked the Rockies about Huston Street.
The 27-year-old, who posted a 1-4 record with a 3.86 ERA last season, has one guaranteed year left on his contract that will see him earn $7.5 million for the 2012 season.
If we are going the trade route I would much rather Bailey.

This is kind of a useless argument. Dependent on who you have to give up, Huston Street would be a great fit.

I always liked watching his funky delivery, but apparently it isn't good for his longevity...

He's injury prone and he gives up a few too many HR's but I wouldn't mind picking him up if the price is right.

Less talk about trading for relievers, more talk about trading for 1B and 2B please.

Agreed... we do need a closer/relief help, however we need to bolster our offense, as well... and at the end of the day, offense is more exciting to talk about!

Also more important to winning games, too.

I honestly am a believer that a "closer" should be found from within... just cause I think its crazy that you'd spend 10+ million on a guy thats gonna give u 1 inning every 2 games, if ur lucky.
Also other than the true ELITE guys like Marian Rivera and maybe 2-3 others, the talent isent really cant-miss type, if u know what i mean. They can be dominant, but replaceable
..... only teams that should go after and spend big money on an established closer, are the teams that are "established" themselves. They need a closer, or its gonna bite them in the ass eventually. Jays are not at that stage yet

#1 Top of the rotation starter
#2 Big Bat
#3 Back End Reliever.
If AA isn't approaching this offseason in the stated manner then he has lost it.

I would like the move if the price was cheap (which it should be).
If he's cheap and can produce a low 3's/high 2's era, then its a hell of a lot better then $10+million a year for multiple years for a mid 2's era like the guys on the free agent market are getting. The difference of ~1-1.5 WAR isn't worth the difference in cash/assets given up between the 2 options.
