Very good news IMO. Its one of those little things that makes us a stronger club. I wonder how much $$ was involved?

No mention of how much, but a good move to see nonetheless by the club. I'm sure it was a group of low-tier prospects, but still, any prospect kept over cash is a good move.

If Rasmus performed a lot better I'm sure you would've seen prospects involved.

They must be able to use it as a tax write-off or something.

It almost makes up for the decade of below-average spending in one of the biggest markets in baseball.

You can keep crying about this when you prove once and for all that the team is making a huge profit that Rogers is sitting on.

The truth is I hate the whole world. I am more than willing to hate rogers too if anyone can prove they are sitting on a gold mine.

great move. This isn't going to be a popular statement, but we should give Rogers credit, as they could have easily said 'no' to AA for offering this option to the Cards.

I'm sure it is or St. Louis is also deciding they're better off with cash.

"All the while, Blue Jays franchise value under Rogers has more than tripled from the $120 million it purchased the team for back in Sept. 2000. "
In 11 years the franchise value went from $120 mil to over $360 mil.
I guess that's because they're NOT turning a large profit on the team.
ps: I believe when a PTBN/Cash is traded, the cash amounts to something like $50k, no?
