Blue Jays Payroll parameters- I got it.

I now understand the "payroll parameters" that AA's working under.

Payroll by year:
2008 $98 million
2009 $80 million
2010 $78 million
2011 $70 million
2012 $65 million?

I got it. The "rebuild" is a well executed soft sell on hope for the future while padding profits. Don't worry we'll compete some day, look at all the young prospects.

We can get to higher payroll some day when the fans come first= Increase revenues & profits & then the next year we'll increase salary to levels that we've previously been at.

Tearing down a team and rebuilding comes with lower salary and maintaining flexibility. That's actually a good thing. While I am on board with Fielder since it's basically a perfect fit and perfect timing, and assuming he doesn't come in at $200 million or 10 years or whatever, just spending money for the sake of spending money isn't the answer.

Just when I thought you were turning the corner with your posts with the Inning Eating Pitchers thread, you go and do this...

*sigh*

Sorry, I'm just disheartened and I'm becoming cynical.
