Jays interested in Manny Ramirez? What do you guys think

Manny Ramirez has begun batting practice in preparation for his return to Major League Baseball for the 2012 season. According to ESPN Deportes the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles were present to watch the 39-year-old outfielder.

Manny would put up better #'s than EE at DH! So yes, I would sign him he makes us better.

Eff the self righteousness. Might as well give him a shot, see if he still has it. He'd be cheap as hell. Then again, I thought the same thing last year...

if he comes cheap, i wouldnt mind giving him a 1 year contract

Yeah, even if AA is high on him I don't think AA will sign him to play 62 meaningless games

i believe they knocked it down to 50, but still thats almost 1/3 of the season

This could be well worth it. There is no downside to signing a guy with a career .312/.411/.585 line to a minimum contract. And judging by his 2010 season (and not 17 meaningless ABs in 2011), he's still probably a better hitter than our current DH and 1B too.

And you're basing this on what exactly? His very good .870 OPS in 2010 or his 17 AB in 2011?

Yeah, don't see this happening.
50 game suspension is hefty and doesn't help us right away.

If he can produce like he did in 2010, he'd be a nice addition.

If it wasn't for the suspension, I'd be on board since he would probably come cheap (but then again, that suspension is why he'd be cheap in the first place).

Hmm, being honest, probably a year too late with this move.

He's Rogers kind of guy - cheap contract, might sell a few tickets.
