There goes the season...Just kidding--but if one of Morrow, Alvarez, or Romero goes down for any length of time, it's going to be a very long season indeed. That's why you can never have enough pitching. You can always count on somebody underperforming (or worse)

It would be interesting for someone to do a study on extended or season-ending injuries for pitchers versus position players. I have no idea whether pitchers are more prone to extended or season ending injuries, but if they are, it opens up a debate about how to use good pitching depth: Do you collect lots of pitching and pitching prospects under the assumption some will suffer such injuries, or do you convert some of those prospects in particular into solid position players under the assumption that it's a safer investment to have solid hitting and fielding right through the lineup.

Either way, injuries to key players will take a contender out of a race, but I wonder if it isn't better to convert some of your pitching prospects into position players or prospects before the inevitable injuries happen.
