Just found this out searching the web. Does he really deserve that much playing time? Is he really that good? Do you think he deserves the chance to prove himself in the field?

Clearly the Blue Jays problems are more than just who to put at DH.

Thats pretty true. Ben Francisco is better than I thought, and he could give EE a run for his money.

Did you just watch the first half of last season?

DH is a hard position to play mentally and I wouldn't tamper with that. He is one of the better DH's in the league and I think he should remain there, unless Adam Lind hits his way out of the lineup.

I don't really like the fact that both Lind and EE have full time positions on this club. I really don't. Edwin needs to show that he can be consistently good from start to finish.

Edwin tied Johnny Damon in fWAR as a DH. He was tied for 7th in the league at his position (DH). Of course only AL teams have DH's so that puts him at middle of the row, but 1.5 fWAR isn't all that terrible.

If Edwin was as good as he was in the 2nd half of last season he quite possible would be a top 3 DH in the league, so the upside for a guy like Edwin is quite good.

He certainly deserves to play more than Adam Lind at any position. At least you don't have to platoon him.
