Encarnacion batting cleanup something you’ll go with on Opening Day?

“It’s one possibility. The way Edwin’s been swinging the bat all spring, he’s in a good place, he took some very good swings again (Saturday), we’re going to have to stack some right-handers in there somewhere, so that’s the configuration at the moment.

That's great news although it's a big bunching of the RHB in the same area and can expose a vulnerability to a LHR late in a game. EE had a .787 OPS/.344 wOBA last year while Lind had a .734 OPS/.314 wOBA.

They're probably going to have to put Escobar at leadoff to space out the RHB a bit.

Today's lineup was:

Escobar-R
Johnson-L
Bautista-R
Encarnacion-R
Lind-L
Lawrie-R
Thames-L
JPA-R
Rasmus-L

Except for swapping EE and Lawrie it's probably the best possible lineup for us.

Very good news. Now the next step for Farrell is platooning Lind against LHP.

I also think Yunel needs to be the leadoff hitter. He can be focused on getting on base to begin games rather than screwing up signs and putting down bunts with runners on.

I agree. The lineup today was awesome. I hope Lind never faces a LHP this season.
