I was shocked to see Lawrie at the top (I looked earlier this morning). It really doesn't feel like he's gotten going yet. Either it's because of watching him last year I have unrealistic expectations, or he's just really good and even when he looks like he's sucking he's able to help out the team a lot.

I kind of wonder a little bit about WAR this early in the season. For example Lawrie's been alright, but .791ops is nothing spectacular really. It looks like he's benifiting quite a bit from the fielding aspect of WAR, but currently he has a UZR/150 of 61.6 which seems a tad inflated by a small sample size, no?
On a side note though, I don't really understand what the reservations about Lawrie playing 3b were when he entered the league. A lot of people thought he couldn't stick there and would end up in the OF. But he's been great at 3b, and other then his 1st couple games in the league I've never had the impression in the least that he was in over his head there.

Its worth noting that according to BABIP we are heavily under performing. Colby has a LD% of 29%. That is insane, he should be hitting at least .300 based on that alone.
All taken into a count, we will start reaching base more soon and these WAR totals will even out over time.
According to advanced stats (DER) we rank (as a team) first defensively... in the whole entire MLB. So at least we are getting it done in the field. Too early to say we have any GG's on our team though.
