Finally attending a Jays game!

Post#1 » by rbp246 » Fri Apr 20, 2012 8:38 pm

Hello Everyone! Im a long time Jays fan and can finally make a trip to Toronto this summer. I will be in attendance when the jays play NYY,CWS, and Rangers in the middle of August.

Can anyone give me any tips as to where the best seats are in Rogers Stadium to watch the Jays play? How early I should show up before the game starts? A good hotel in the near by proximity? Sights to see in Toronto and area while I am there?

I realize this may not be thread worthy but I figured this would be the best place to ask this question.
I'm not always thirsty...But when I am, I prefer Dos Equis.. Stay thirsty my friends.

Behind the plate is my favourite spot (100 section). Otherwise there will be plenty of seats available for the White Sox and Rangers game. Yankees games tends to bring out a lot of people from NY so you want to book your tickets for good seats early.

I like the outfield seats. Love heckling the catchers.

On weekend 1:00 games, if you want to avoid the sun/heat when the dome is open try sections 230-234. Otherwise on weekday 7:00 games anywhere in the 100 level should be good.

Agreed/
Watched a few games in the past few summers for weekend afternoon games.
The sun + the heat does not make the game as enjoyable as it can be.
Everyone seems to go into the shade every 1/2 inning.

The Renaissance Hotel is quite a popular hotel and is actually part of the Rogers Centre. If it's really a mainly-baseball trip it would be quite convenient to just stay right there - you could even get a room that has a view of the playing field and just watch a few games right from your room.

Otherwise, the Mariott Residence Inn is decent - big suites and quite close by. There are actually tons of hotels in the area, really depends on your price range.

As for things to do - doing a search online will reveal plenty of threads regarding this.
