Not quite at the same level as the Jays maybe signing Nash, but this old Expos fan approves.

.733 OPS last year for Baltimore in 562 ABs, .775 after the All Star Break.

Like others, I did not see this coming at all.

Amazing news! When I heard the rumors of him going to Kansas City, what little left of the Expos fan in me started dying.

I was really hoping he'd end up with the Jays somehow.

Interesting move, definitely didn't see that coming. I assume he's insurance in case Lind never gets it going - move Edwin to first base and have Vlad DH.

Interesting.
Not a huge risk and could turn into a little gem of a deal for us.
Hopefully it works out for both sides.

I like the deal. He'll prob get the starts at DH vs Lefties.

He's taking Cordero's spot in the bullpen.

Probably wishful thinking but if Jays bring up Vlad, I'd want him to DH vs. LHP only, EE to 1B vs. LHP, DH vs. RHP and LInd to 1B vs. RHP only.

+1

haha!

Considering how he swings, I can only imagine how he would pitch.

Thames has hit reasonably well, and Vlad can't play the outfield any more, so I don't think Thames' spot on the team is in question. If Vlad maks the team it would be at the expense of Lind, or possibly Ben Francisco, unless more moves are coming.

With Vladimir Guerrero signing, as reported by @Ken_Rosenthal, Adam Lind is on notice. Edwin Encarnacion can play 1B.
