So the recovery from the shoulder infection is going very bad for Jesse. He's been on IV Antibiotics for 6 weeks now and there's no recovery timetable. I don't think he was probably in the long term plans for the franchise but certainly you don't want a potentially severe type of infection. If he's required this level of treatment it's certainly not good.
Just spoke to Jesse Litsch. Since infection his shoulder has gotten worse. Says it's become "career threatening". Litsch is unable to do any throwing right now but says until he's told he can never pitch again, he won't give up hope. Litsch on the whole ordeal of dealing with infection. "6 weeks wearing a fanny pack with IV going to my heart is not fun"

Thats really sad to hear. I wish him the best. I remember when he burst onto the scene, I think it was in 2008 and started the season 5-0.

Bleh 2/5 of our great 2008 rotation seem like they'll never pitch again

Apparently there is "good" news on the Litsch injury front. I say "good" because he still has no idea what is causing all the pain in his shoulder....
Doctor's give Litsch some good newsJesse Litsch hasn’t had a lot of good news lately but he got some Tuesday. Doctors had ordered a blood test last Friday to make sure the infection in his injured shoulder had been completely healed and he got a clean bill of health on that front.
That still leaves Litsch with a very sore shoulder that he is trying to rehabilitate. His problems began in spring training with some relatively minor inflammation. He underwent a PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection that caused an infection in the joint requiring emergency surgery to clean it up.
Because of the immobilization of his shoulder after surgery, he developed a case of what is called “frozen shoulder” and is currently trying to deal with the discomfort of that ailment.
I'm happy that Jessie's health is at least stable. Those infections can be life-threatening, and at that point any thoughts of a career are secondary.

Right now, it's a frozen shoulder, a condition I know a lot about. Had it in my right should two years ago and now having it in the left. It's no big deal to fix - generally just exercise and standard heat and ultra-sound, but it can take a few months for the body to clear the scar tissue. I'd be surprised if he pitches for another month, and then will need several weeks to get his form back.

Was never a fan of him as a pitcher, but this type of stuff always sucks to see for the people involved. That's no fun, and he doesn't deserve it

hope it doesn't ice his career.
