Poll: Best Time To Meet Up For Pickup Baseball On June 3rd

We've come up with June 3rd as the best date most likely at the diamond at Birchmount and Lawrence.

Directions to Birchmount and Lawrence
McGregor park (Lawrence & Birchmount - 2231 Lawrence Ave E) is accessible via the the following stations:
- Lawrence East station.
Depending on how fast you can walk, I would say it's anywhere from 10 to 20 minute walk going west from the station. There's also a bus 54 (any 54 going westbound) that will drop you off right accross from the park (Stop name is CANLISH) - 2 minutes bus ride.
- Warden station
Take any # 17 bus and stop off at the Lawrence east stop. Walk about 5 minutes (east) to the park. - about 20 minutes bus ride.
- Eglinton station
Take any 54 bus and stop off at CANLISH. Looking at about 45 to 50 minutes bus ride.
For those driving, there's parking behind the Recreation Centre that's right beside the diamond. There's also parking by the library beside the RC that's right beside the basketball court.

Ahhh man... I wish I was back home. My childhood home is at Birchmount and Eglinton. The diamonds behind Churchill were a second home.

I was around the park from 4:50pm to 6:00 pm. There was no one playing anything resembling baseball there. There was a good number of people playing basketball if anyone cared.
The diamond didn't have any lines drawn in yet so I assumed no one was playing at all on Sunday. The grass in the outfield probably needs some care but it's ok for a pickup game I suppose. The park itself also contains another 2 softball diamonds, tennis court and a basketball court.

So it's looking like either 2 or 5pm. 5 seems more ideal though since because there's a Blue Jays game in the afternoon that day and some of us probably wouldn't want to miss it.

5pm is actually leading as per Attonitus's switch from his 2pm vote.
With the game starting at 1:07pm, bobblehead day and all, I believe we should gather at 5pm and hope everyone is there for the game to start by 5:30pm.

My experience playing baseball is extremely limited (playing a couple of times per month in the summer the last 2-3 years none of which came close to resembling a real game). That said I play many other sports, am fairly athletic and love the game.
My goal when I brought this up was to get better, have some fun and play a real game for once. It's a little uncomfortable watching most people participating be in some type of league, talk about bringing the heaters/getting umps, etc but I encourage everyone who is interested to come out and play, especially considering the fact that it doesn't look like we will have enough people.

It doesn't matter if you don't have experience of aren't good at baseball, the goal on Sunday is to just come out, have fun and meet a few fellow realgmers.
