Oh joy, Laffey!

Is there such a thing as the Laffey curve?

And oh ya: Chad, we hardly knew you.

Laffey is the suck! Now Farrell's gonna use him in a one-run ball game.

This is the type of move that makes you wonder if they're throwing in the white towel
I mean, we can't do better than this!?

I was wrong when I said in the Texas series thread that Sunday's game was the low for the season.

Aaron Laffey being promoted is the new low. Let's just hope and pray that the next five games are complete game shutouts by our starting pitchers. You just know Farrell is itching to bring Laffey in during a tight game with three righties up to bat...

Anyone know what's up with Carreno? Why isn't he part of this merry-go-round?

You get the feeling they aren't going to be desperate about "salvaging the season". And at this stage, it's probably wise. The time to get another starter was last winter, but AA didn't like the Price/Value ratio. We don't know any details, or whether we were close on Darvish, but next time he might not have the luxury of being conservative. The time to get a first baseman with some offensive oomph was last winter, but we don't hand out seven year deals.

This thing has to turn itself around, or the season will die a natural death. I'm not sure AA is comfortable yet being a mid-season buyer. His comfort zone is mid-season seller and we seem to be drifting rather aimlessly into that comfort zone.

Griffin tries to explain the rationale behind the Merry-go-round and anticipate the next round of moves.
