I think that it'll make sense if we just postponed pickup baseball 2 Sundays from now to the 10th then risk us going into Sunday thinking that we'll be able to play in playable weather. Looks like it going to rain hard today and on Sunday so the 10th would be more suitable. Sorry for the inconvenience. Here's the list of the confirmed guys that were interested. Hopefully you guys will be up for this on the 10th.

Directions to Birchmount and Lawrence

McGregor park (Lawrence & Birchmount - 2231 Lawrence Ave E) is accessible via the the following stations:

- Lawrence East station.
Depending on how fast you can walk, I would say it's anywhere from 10 to 20 minute walk going west from the station. There's also a bus 54 (any 54 going westbound) that will drop you off right accross from the park (Stop name is CANLISH) - 2 minutes bus ride.

- Warden station
Take any # 17 bus and stop off at the Lawrence east stop. Walk about 5 minutes (east) to the park. - about 20 minutes bus ride.

- Eglinton station
Take any 54 bus and stop off at CANLISH. Looking at about 45 to 50 minutes bus ride.

For those driving, there's parking behind the Recreation Centre that's right beside the diamond. There's also parking by the library beside the RC that's right beside the basketball court.

I hope you guys have fun and that this can turn into an annual event.

So now the question is who's going to take responsibility to bring some of the essentials for this baseball game to happen?

Baseballs?
Catchers equipment?
Extra gloves for guys that don't have any?
Camera for potential pictures on Sunday to post on this forum?

You should also organize that people bring a dark shirt and a white shirt so everyone knows what team they are on once picked.

A cooler for water is also important.

Oh a pen and paper to keep score if you guys are that serious.

I'll be there. I've got extra gloves as well. If someones got catchers equipement I've got my catcher's glove and will catch for one of the teams.

I will need a glove. I throw right so I will need a glove for the left hand.

In exchange, I will volunteer the wife for camera duties

TR50, will you still be able to bring the loads of baseball equipment you said you would be able to bring like the baseballs, baseball bat, catchers mask, catchers chest protector, batting helmets and the make shift base?

Remember I posted, in the last thread, that I cannot make June 3rd but will try to make it for the game in July.

So I can't make this Sunday.

I haven't played a fully organized baseball game in pretty close to 20 years (I've played catch and boxball and some version of 500up at least a couple times a summer since then, but no full games since I stopped playing leagues in h.s. after I discovered certain other activities that were even more fun ) and I'm going to the cottage this weekend, but I hope this is a success that leads to more in the future, 'cause I'm willing to come out and make you all look good next time. And pics or it didn't happen.

Guys, it's going to rain alot the next couple of days and it will be on the cold side. The weather forecast for Sunday is a high of 18 degrees with rain throughout the day. It's looking like it will be a washout.
