I'm overseas and I haven't been able to watch the live games other than keep up with box scores/highlights/fantasy.

So, for those of you watching the team closely why hasn't this team been able to sweep or win consecutive series? It seems like a trend this year.. win a series, lose the next..see-sawing..

Because we have a .500 team, and .500 teams don't run off good win streaks.

AA hasn't put a very good team on the field this season. They are simply getting beat by better teams.

holes in starting rotation, holes in batting lineup, holes in the bullpen, holes managing and holes in front office...thats a lot of friggin holes to overcome

We have a very young team, with both our players and pitchers. Youth will lead to inconsistency.

Even if this isn't true, it feels like it's been this way for years. And because we don't have a habit of going on any sort of substantial winning streaks it leaves even less margin for error (obviously). If feels alot like you're running on a treadmill and not really going anywhere.

Are we really that much younger than other teams? The starting pitchers, I agree. But so what if we have a couple of young position players, most teams do. What we have is a lot of weak areas. It's not necessarily about youth, it's about talent.

Look at the rotation. Nuff said. Too young and inconsistent. A winning streak past maybe 5 or 6 games max is literally impossible unless our bats go wacko.

We aren't very good.

If we signed everybody on this team to a 5 year deal and we watched a game 5 years from now I bet we would be watching a top tier team.

I agree. A lot has to do with youth.

We're playing the Brewers then Marlins. Even with our unknown pitching rotation we have a legit shot to keep streaking. Of course the Blowdero factor will undoubtedly rear its ugly head soon and kill the streak.
