We'd be looking at a sweep if we had major-league pitching in games 2 and 3.

Villanueva would be a decent option to start, just like he was last season. I hope he fills that role going forward.

The guy we have going in game 1 has a 5.60 FIP this season. So perhaps you mean games 1, 2, and 3. :-?

I'll take the over on total runs for each game. I'm ready for our offense to carry us. Thankfully we aren't playing elite teams as we sort out our rotation woes.

BLUE JAYS PURCHASE CONTRACT OF REVOLUTION RHP SHAWN HILL

The two-time defending Atlantic League Champion York Revolution has announced the contract of starting pitcher Shawn Hill has been purchased by the Toronto Blue Jays. The transaction makes Hill the third arm from the Revolution staff to join a Major League Organization this season. Reliever Ian Thomas joined the Atlanta Braves on May 17, and starter Ryan Feierabend inked a deal with the Cincinnati Reds on June 5.

Hill's time in York was relatively brief, but the right-hander made a tremendous impact. Once Hill became a regular in the Revolution starting rotation, he did not allow a run in the final 27 and two-thirds innings he pitched in a York uniform, over his final five starts for the club.

The Mississauga, Ontario native will begin his second tour of duty with the franchise of his Province. Toronto was the most recent organization Hill pitched for, before an injury cost him all of the 2011 season. In Hill's most recent Major League time he was quite impressive for the Blue Jays, tossing 20 and two-thirds innings in 2010 in four starts posting a 2.61 ERA. Hill is a veteran of 44 MLB games (all starts) between 2004 and 2010 with Montreal/Washington, San Diego and Toronto.

Hill has also been a significant part of the Canadian National Team, in both Olympic and Pan-Am Games play. He's one of just four native Canadians to play for both the Montreal Expos and Toronto Blue Jays in the Majors, and is now in his 11th professional season.

Marcum won't start tomorrow due to tightness in his elbow.

I want to win but I do not wish injuries on former players unless they deserve it. Hopefully it is nothing too serious.
